City Soles has a strong foothold in the Wicker Park shopping scene.

Wicker Park has transformed over the years into one of the biggest up-and-coming fashion meccas in the city, if not the world. Holding its ground with other fashion-savvy Chicago neighborhoods, Wicker Park has a singular mix of vintage shops, record stores, national clothing chains and cutting-edge fashion boutiques.

The main shopping district in Wicker Park is directly off the Damen Blue Line "L" stop. Step off the tracks and you’ll see the Milwaukee-Damen-North triangle, which will be the main starting and ending point for all things fashionable.

Kick up your heels first at City Soles (2001 W. North Ave.), a funky footwear store where you’ll find beautifully made shoes by high-end designers. The merchandise is a little pricey, but worth it for the well-made products. Also, swing by the sister store Niche (1566 N. Damen Ave.) for a bigger selection of luxe designer shoes.

Next, score vintage records or sell the old CDs in your closet at Reckless Records (1532 N. Milwaukee Ave.). Filled to the brim with quality vintage vinyl and classic DVDs, this shop is ideal for music and entertainment connoisseurs. Quirky and cute gifts and accessories have found a home at Rudy’s Roundup (1410 N. Milwaukee Ave.). There’s something for everyone here, and the price points are reasonable, too. To find treasures and leather goods, US #1, (1460 N. Milwaukee Ave.) has a lot of hidden gems. Do a little digging at this vintage consignment shop and you may find a few designer leather handbags (Gucci and Chanel to name a few).

Finish up a busy day of shopping at Saint Alfred (1531 N. Milwaukee Ave.). A one-stop-shop for trendy urbanwear, including cool sneakers, T-shirts and fitted hats, Saint Alfred carries some hard-to-find styles and designers.
